Among other areas, the firm has extensive experience with contract review/drafting and negotiation, delay, impact and change order claims, delay analysis, bid protests, mechanic’s liens and stop notices, subcontractor substitutions, prevailing wage disputes, contractor license problems, termination for default or convenience, OSHA violations, collective bargaining disputes, bond and indemnity claims, professional liability, false claims, insurance coverage disputes, project documentation and close out negotiations and construction defects and accidents. The firm is highly experienced in all areas of public or private construction law.
During the past 30 years, the firm has been involved in a variety of landmark projects, including, for example, the BART system in the San Francisco area, the Washington, D.C. subway system (WMATA), the Transamerica Headquarters Building in San Francisco, the Interstate 5/Columbia River Bridge in Portland, Oregon, the John Day Dam, the Chicago Deep Tunnels Project, the Bradley International Terminal at the Los Angeles International Airport, the San Onofre Nuclear Generating System, the Eisenhower Medical Center in Palm Desert, the Imperial Medical Center Complex in Teheran, Iran, the Phoenix Drain Tunnels, and many state highway and water projects, especially those involving California Department of Transportation and Department of Water Resources.
More recently, Monteleone & McCrory has represented many of the prime contractors involved in building the subway tunnels and stations (Red Line) and above-ground rail system (Green Line) for the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority and two of the prime contractors that constructed the Hyperion Treatment Plan upgrade for the City of Los Angeles. The firm also continues to represent contractors in major highway projects, such as the current earthquake retrofit campaign, sponsored by the State of California. It also continues to work for clients doing pipeline and treatment facilities work for state and local agencies.
